Anthony Botrus is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, and Michigan as well as a registered telehealth provider in the states of Florida and South Carolina (https://llr.sc.gov/TeleHealth/Counselor.html)
In 2013, Anthony earned his Master of Science in Psychology from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He began his career as a Marriage & Family Therapist working with under-served inner-city children and teens in foster care and probation residential settings in Los Angeles and San Bernadino Counties. There he provided court-ordered treatment in the form of individual, family, and group psychotherapy as well as trainings and presentations for residential treatment staff. He also provides valuable clinical supervision and consultation services for various mental health agencies.
Experience
Anthony has experience completing various forensic mental health evaluations for immigration law clients related to I-601 and I-601A Waivers (“extreme hardship”), Visa U/VAWA, Political Asylum, and Cancellation of Removal Proceedings (“exceptional and extremely unusual hardship”), conducting psychological testing to assess the extent of physical, emotional and psychological impact on qualifying relatives, and preparing concise medical-legal psychological reports. In addition, he has experience in evaluation and treatment of victims of crime and clients involved in personal injury cases.
My Approach & Philosophy
Anthony has extensive training in several Evidence-Based Practice models including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Seeking Safety, and Managing and Adapting Practice as well as all contemporary family therapy theories. He has experience in working with diverse clientele including gang-involved families, LGBTQ+, and clients from a wide array of ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds.
